That’s what I think is happening. Apparently maggots only eat decaying flesh, not living tissue, it’s apparently how a lot of wounds with necrosis and decay are treated. The maggots also apparently have secretions that are
Highly antibacterial and pro-healing. Weird, but true.

I’ve seen documentaries where maggots are used on burn victims to clear away the burned tissue because it’s the best and most sterile way to do it. Makes you cringe though.

In a previous post someone explained these are not the same type if maggots used in wound treatment and they explained why.

Totally abandoned by those that needed to look after her. Raises her kids all her life and none of them realize she is literally being eaten alive by what seemed to have started as an injury or similar.
