Re: Drunk Speedy Driver Fatally Hits Cyclist

But its still 50% the bikes fault for being oblivious to traffic and driving on the wrong side.
I'd say it's mostly the cyclist's fault. I know the car driver shouldn't have been drinking nor speeding, but if you take him out of the equation, the cyclist is still in the wrong.

He cut across the pedestrian crossing, into oncoming traffic, there's no way he didn't see that car coming. He should have got over the pedestrian crossing, then waited to turn left whilst indicating with his hand (since he's on the road with a bike + not a pedestrian).

Re: Drunk Speedy Driver Fatally Hits Cyclist

It's possible that the bicyclist took it for granted that the driver of the car would slow down for the pedestrian crosswalk, and that's why he took a chance—when the driver evidently didn't.

That's why it can be deadly to assume anything on the roads—without truly making sure it's safe first.

Sadly, had the driver applied the brakes at the very moment he appeared in the frame, it's quite possible he could have avoided the accident—but definitely not in his intoxicated state, which had already put a dent in his reaction time and situational awareness.

It is true that either one of them could have avoided this tragedy—but legally, the driver is the responsible party.

From the standpoint of one's duty to self-preservation, it is true that the cyclist obviously failed to exercise his.

In that sense, he caused his own death, for sure.

Same road, same rules. He was clearly taking a stupid risk. Didn't pay off this time. Oops, I mean the LAST time.

When they do a blood test on the cyclist you will probably find he was under influence as well, that said .. how do you recover a sample when the fucking idiot was sent to the moon

according to the report, he was on his third beer.

Re: Drunk Speedy Driver Fatally Hits Cyclist

1. Driver was under the influence.

2. Driver was speeding.

3. Driver did not slow down for a pedestrian crossing.

4. Though negligent in the sudden change of direction, the bicyclist had priority, because of the clearly marked pedestrian crosswalk.

5. it is incumbent upon drivers to approach with caution, slow down and prepare for pedestrians or bicyclists when approaching pedestrian crossings.

Now, I'm sure I'm going to get a lot of hate for this—but reason rises above all things.
It looks like an intersection likely with a traffic light, I can’t tell. If that’s the case then the pedestrian crossing means nothing if the light was green. The cunt on the bicycle erratically crossed in front of the car, end of story. He wants to hog the road with his bike so he should be treated as such.

Re: Drunk Speedy Driver Fatally Hits Cyclist

If this is the case, even if the driver was not drunk, the cyclist will still get hit

The Chinese will have to get the blood sample when they get to the moon—they will kill him again with Covid-19 and rape his corpse with a swarm of bats. He got hit so hard, that it shattered his spacesuit—it will be a hard trip to the moon constantly screaming. "I can't breathe!" "I can't breathe!"
