Re: Drunk Guy Partially Ran Over by a Train After Passing Out on the Track
He probably fell asleep parallel to the tracks, had the one leg resting on the actual track. I agree with the person saying this type of injury would have been survivable if he were being treated in the "West". Time is of the essence I would think. Be quick (but diligent) about getting the injured stabilized for transport to the hospital, the better chances the person has of surviving. |

Re: Drunk Guy Partially Ran Over by a Train After Passing Out on the Track
guy looks like he's been for a jog through Sangin Valley!! I agree, with western medical professionals on the scene this guy would have survived. Double Tourniquet above the knee, hold it up at a slight angle so he doesn't bleed out or bleed in, morphine the guy then casevac his drunk ass out of there!

Re: Drunk Guy Partially Ran Over by a Train After Passing Out on the Track
People die in the hands of western medicine professionals all the time. The guy was drunk, alcohol makes your blood thinner, plus he was hit by a train ...and we don't know how long he was there until he was found, he probably died from prolonged blood loss. Amputating it wouldnt have saved him as he already bled out probably for hours before being found. He could also have died from the pain, or shock related to blood loss or something else.
