It dont think they cleared her airway. No breaths were given to her. (you know, when they pinch the nose?). So she had no air going in unless the movement brought in some air, but I doubt it would be enough. She didn't look alive at the end to me.

I remember being taught to do those upward thrusts for drowning victims when I was in highschool. If the person is brought out of the water fast enough they still have a heartbeat but just can't get oxygen cause of all the water in their lungs. CPR would have done more harm than good.
