Re: ~Driver Dies In Fiery Crash In Burnaby, B.C.~

Ever since the very first video I saw on this site, of a guy burning to death trapped in a car, I have put tow chains and a fire extinguisher in every car I own.

I've seen people use 3 or 4 extinguishers but the fuel just keeps reigniting on hot exhaust. That's where the tow chains come in. Either use another vehicle to PUSH the wreck off the fuel puddle (very dangerous as your car will have to pass over it) or hook the chains (nylon straps will just melt) and drag the vehicle off the puddle...
sometimes I have an argument with you, as we often differ in our opinions. But this is gold, the knowledge that is shared in this website, in this case you are giving advice that is ultra valuable ; advice which may save lives. I appreciate these kind of posts, no egoistic battle, no point to prove, just simply very essential advice that may save someone’s life in the future

I have a fire extinguisher in my car. I also carry a longer pry bar under my front seat. It has been said that you can get anything in the world with a pry bar, so it is good in a TEOTWAWKI scenario. I figure a pry bar can help me break my way out of or into a wrecked car with trapped passengers. Does triple duty as a tool to discipline any attacking "disadvantaged youth" that try to drag me from my car. Which reminds me, I need to sharpen the end of my pry bar so it will be good for 'poke checks'.

You can get a pry bar for maybe $10 at Harbor freight, but the $10 ones are softer steal and I have bent one.

Too bad nobody had a fire extinguisher, in this case it might have actually helped
That would probably have just prolonged his agony, no way a single extinguisher would put that fire out.

Poke checks ? Guess you’re a lacrosse player? I played for a team in the UK, we did a USA tour when I was
16 years old, first we played teams in Maryland and Virginia, then we went to New York for RnR, met the Syracuse teams and we generally got our asses kicked in every match we played, but when we came home to play in our English league, we were sharper, faster and harder than all our opponents, due to the American training program. Those crazy Americans even advised us to sleep with our Lacrosse sticks !
I fucking love the USA

Yes, I played lacrosse in high school in 1981 to 1983.

I had no idea there were lacrosse teams in the UK. In the early to mid 1980's there were only 5 high school teams in the Chicago metro area with a population of around 9 million. At that time, lacrosse was mostly played on the east coast at preppy high schools and very expensive east coast universities.

Glad you had a productive trip to the USA. Here is a video of our advanced American training techniques in action!
