So my friend wrote a book called “will my cat eat my eyeballs?”. She’s a mortician who has written previous books and this is a collection of questions asked BY CHILDREN during her previous book tours. Spoiler alert: The answer to the titular question is: yes. cats will wait about 48 hours after their bowl is empty before they start gnawing on their owner. However there is not too much nutritive value to the eyeballs, they will more likely go after the fleshy, easy to chew parts like the eye lids, your nose, or webbing between your fingers. Fido will be a bit more of “man’s best friend”, waiting about 72 hours. But there have been quite a few cases where police have come to a residence where the scene initially looked like a horrible gruesome murder scene only to find the corpse died of natural causes and a well fed dog with blood in it’s fur cowering in a back room from all the police commotion. All my dogs that I've ever had were very fussy with what they ate. I temporarily homed 6 dogs from Syria 3 years ago. Let me tell you, those dogs would have eaten ANYTHING that even slightly resembled food. Even when they surely must have been full to the brim, they'd eat like they were starving, if I offered them more. Such a shame. Poor animals. We so very often focus of the politics, weapons, people displaced, murders, death count but nearly NEVER about the animals in these war zones.  |
