Doc Killed After Street Fight with Cabbie
A St. Petersburg doctor died after a fight with a migrant taxi driver. 38-year-old Dmitry Karpov worked as an ultrasound diagnostics specialist at the Baltmed Clinic in Ozerky. His life was tragically cut short after a street fight while on vacation in Yaroslavl. On the evening of March 10, Karpov was crossing the road along the pedestrian crossing near the Znamenskaya Tower in the center of the city, when he had a conflict with the driver of a taxi. During the fight, the Petersburg citizen fell and hit his head on the asphalt. The victim was taken to the hospital, but he could not be saved. The 30-year-old migrant taxi driver has been charged with a criminal case based on an article of deliberate causing serious harm to health, causing the victim's negligence death. He was arrested by the court. |

Re: Doc Killed After Street Fight with Cabbie
That is so fucking crazy. You don’t need to jump from a 5 story building, just “trust fall” away at ground level without anyone behind you. I’ve always found ironic how when we study biology, the human body is seen as so resilient. When in reality it’s pretty fragile. Or maybe it is actually resilient and that’s why the earth is so populated. But then you see how easy it is to bite the dust, in so many different ways. Besides the morbid curiosity that’s always attracted me to DR, I really do think a lot about life when watching so much death. |

Re: Doc Killed After Street Fight with Cabbie
I know it doesn’t relate to a fight/this specific incident…but THIS IS WHY YOU WEAR A HELMET! Even just falling from a standing height, much less a fall with more momentum due to biking/skateboarding/etc etc etc is more than enough to kill even an otherwise healthy, young person. Sorry. Rant over. |
