I've been a heroin addict for thirty years. I'm not degenerate scum. I've never stolen, sold drugs, or hurt anyone. I know not every junky can say those things, but some can. Just because most crimes in some places are committed by black people, it doesn't mean all blacks in those areas are criminals. In terms of misery produced alcohol and tobacco are light years ahead of drugs. Look at the following numbers Table 1 Drug-related deaths in England and Wales 2000 to 2004[4] Cocaine 575 Amphetamine 384 Ecstasy 227 Solvents 246[3] Opiates (heroin, morphine & methadone) 4,976 Alcohol 25,000 - 200,000 approx. Tobacco half a million approx Look at those numbers and tell me junkies deserve the hard time they get. Think of the costs to the exchequer of all those alcohol and tobacco deaths. The only reason the whole war on drugs started was to make William Randall Hearst richer. As the use of hemp goods threatened to reduce his obscene fortune by replacing wood derived products with hemp derived ones. And once harmless pot was in the governments targets other drugs had to follow. It's all utter bullshit. Mankind, and many other animals have a natural urge to get off their faces. And I don't think a government has the right to tell me that urge and it's fulfilment is wrong. Back to the original point heroin addicts aren't the problem, heroin is. Give them all as much smack as they want (if legal the price would be a tiny fraction of what it us now) and then they could be healthy, contributing members of society. Only the lifestyle Addicts are forced to live now is unhealthy, not the heroin itself. |

Whoa... I am not easily rattled but this was simply sad and horrific. Here in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania we are having a serious issue with this drug. So many deaths . In fact recently we had a case of two young people who overdosed and died. The worst part was the fact that they had 3 small kiddos in the home with them..The children were finally rescued after 4 days. Heartbreaking..  |
