Re: Disastrously Funky!

The helicopter gun you're referring to is an M230 chain gun, which fires a 30mm round. I actually have one sitting right here, coincidentally, so I snapped a picture of it to illustrate why it's so devastating: https://i.imgur.com/A1gaz5L.jpg

Dork, huh?

Would a dork know Ariah Wershel won the 2013 Nobel Prize in Chemistry for devising computational methods for structure-function correlation of biological molecules, specifically regarding enzymatic reactions and free energy perturbations in microscopic electrostatic protein models? Or, more broadly, that he is a pioneer of multiscale modeling in biochemistry?

I don't think so.

You have to be at least a doofus to know that stuff.

I believe the Ammo you have is the one for the A-10(30x173MM). The ones for the M230 on the Apache are 30x113MM.

30x113 Ammo comparison:

Mea Culpa; it is definitely a round for the Gatling gun in the Warthog. I knew the Apache cartridge was not exactly the same, but I didn't realize there was such a disparity between the two

They got down, got funky!

The gun that looks like a laser when firing tracers is a M134 Minigun in the standard NATO 7.62 x 51mm caliber:

We had a couple of MRAP's with the M134D-H (Dillion Aero) in service undertaking certain tasks. They were hell on the enemy. Usually iw was a couple M2's mounted. I included the mix with M249. I took this pic coming back in the wire

Re: Disastrously Funky!

You just know that at least one person on the minigun design team was drunk most of the time.

Gunologist #1: "The barrel keeps overheating."

Gunologist #2: "Well shit, fuck it then, let's just add 4 more."

Gunologist #1: "How would that work, though?"

Gunologist #2: "Uhhmm...ooh, I know! We'll make 'em *spin*!"

Gunologist #1: "..."

Gunologist #2: "..."

Gunologist #1: "So, how long have you been off the wago--"

Gunologist #2: "3 weeks, and it's putting a real strain on my marriage so can we please just not talk about it right now? "
