Disabled Man in Lubuklinggau Dies After Being Hit by Train, Allegedly Unaware of Train Passing

LUBUKLINGGAU – A heartbreaking incident occurred in Lubuklinggau City. A disabled teenager with the initials D.K died after being hit by an economy class train on the Palembang-Lubuklinggau route on Sunday afternoon (March 29, 2026).

The incident occurred in the neighborhood of RT 01, Mesat Seni Village, East Lubuklinggau II District, not far from the victim's residence.

According to information gathered, before the incident, the victim was seen on the railroad tracks using his cell phone. He is suspected of being unaware of the train passing, leading to the unavoidable accident.

The force of the impact resulted in fatal injuries. His body was dragged approximately 200 meters from the initial location of the accident.

Residents who witnessed the incident immediately panicked. Hysterical screams erupted at the scene, prompting other residents to rush out of their homes to provide assistance.

Several residents then attempted to evacuate the victim, while others immediately contacted the police for further assistance. One eyewitness said the incident unfolded very quickly.

He saw the victim in the middle of the tracks before the train arrived. "Not long after that, the train passed.

Everything happened so fast, the victim didn't have time to get out of the way," he said.

This incident serves as a stark warning to the public to be more cautious and avoid activities near railway tracks, given the dangers that can occur at any time without warning.
