Devotee Fatally Stabbed in Chest by Other Devotee Performing Knives Stunt
India. P.K, 21, was participating in a Ram Navami procession Hindu event which is organized around akharas (traditional martial arts groups). These groups lead the processions, which are known for their massive scale, often involving hundreds of thousands of people. A central feature of the procession is the display of traditional martial arts skills. Participants perform stunts using swords, sticks, daggers, and maces. For the celebrations in Hazaribag, the district administration declared a three-day ban on the sale of alcohol but in the days leading up to the festival, police conducted raids at 52 locations across the district, seizing over 4,600 liters of illegal and country-made liquor to prevent its distribution. It was during one such viral knife stunt displays that P. K. was accidentally injured by a devotee wielding two knives while performing a stunt in a crowded section of the procession. P.K. was brought to the Hospital where docs declared him dead. |

Hmmm...it doesn't seem that swinging a couple of knives around in a crowded procession would be that dangerous. |

DOH! Looks like the blow happened at about 00:06, JUST offscreen. Your best and only chance at fame in these times, a viral death video, blunted (unlike the weapons). Better luck next time, I guess. One has to wonder how many people participating (and/or spectators) are killed by drunken weapon wielders vs. just by the illegal booze itself...
