Putting a nail through your hand is actually a stunt done by those freakshow events where performers hurt themselves in creative ways. Also in Philippines they have a christian tradition where people volunteer to cosplay Jesus Christ and legitimately get nailed to the cross at the end of the parade (with extra ropes keeping them in place so they can't suffocate to death like Jesus did). Avoid the tendons and the arteries and theres really not much that can get damaged in your hand after that so putting stuff through them is not as dangerous as it sounds. Still, don't try this at your home.
