Re: Delhi Girl Stabbed 22 Times by Stalker
That's true for the majority, but there is a minority who in reality do intervene: I'm one of them. I took action during 3 extremely violent, bloody and deadly attacks in which everyone else was simply watching. The first one, in Toronto, against an out-of-control body-building bouncer, saved the lives of 2 men - the 3rd man, his head rammed right through the metal grill of a van, was already dead. The first one in Hamilton helped save the life of a young man who was being stabbed by a drug crazed, 6.5 ft bald neo-nazi-dude. Another motorist helped me pin the guy down (after I had disarmed him and laid him into the pavement) until the cops came and cuffed him. The second one in Hamilton broke up a swarming (about 14 kids) attack on 2 guys who were out with their dates on a Friday night. On the second pass (1-way streets here) I wheelied my Harley up onto the sidewalk, gunned it and headed straight for the kids (King St.'s sidewalks are wide). Several of them looked up at me, lid already swinging in my hand, and they all fled. The two dudes were both unconscious in large pools of blood. I don't know what injuries they had. Except for the stabbing one in Hamilton, no one there did anything - and this is in Canada and these were all before cellphones came along. Would I do it again? Damn straight I would (except for your non-swimmer comparison, lol). As for me? I'm just under 5'8", at the time(s) was about 130 lbs soaking wet, medium build, long haired and bearded. I don't jump into things blindly but I do it very quickly if I'm going to. Was I afraid? I never thought about it. As for this stabbing incident in New Delhi; would I have moved in? I don't know but my gut tells me that I probably would have since my first thought on seeing the vid was, "I would have taken him out." Might'a failed, maybe not. The second part would have atleast been to start First Aid on the girl - no one there even tried that. But you're right about most people, IMO, in these real life situations. I don't think that most folks are raised or have whatever it is to put their own lives in danger. Those who might say it here on a forum might actually have that rage-quality to do it. Cheers :) |
