As a farmer and tractor lover...the one thing you DO NOT DO....is try to pull a stump out going forward or pull a load that far exceeds the capacity of the tractor. What happened is that the tractor was in a low pulling gear and the target pull did not move. The tractor transferred the torque to raise the front of the tractor up and over. If the operator has the tractor in idle up...he has only a fraction of a second or so to hit the clutch and drop the front end....if not.....smoosh.
