Dead Body Gets Lifted from Underground Water Storage Tank
Tuesday afternoon in the northern part of Maracaibo, Venezuela a gruesome discovery of a man's body was done. The body of an elderly man, was found upside down inside an underground water storage tank. The depot is located in a square situated a few meters from the iconic Plaza para Todos and right in front of the headquarters of the National Open University. Residents had already expressed their concern after reporting the man's disappearance 48 hours earlier. However, it wasn't until strong, foul odors began emanating from the storage facility that neighbors confirmed their worst fears and alerted the authorities. It was necessary to drain approximately 45,000 liters of water to facilitate access; in addition, they used specialized cameras to locate the exact position of the remains before proceeding with the descent. Although the body was in an advanced state of decomposition, unofficial reports from the community suggest that it was a well-known elderly man in the area. According to witnesses, the deceased frequently visited those water tanks to bathe. The authorities has launched an investigation to determine whether the death was caused by accidental drowning or if there are indications of foul play. The body was taken to the city morgue for an autopsy. |

Re: Dead Body Gets Lifted from Underground Water Storage Tank
The water from this underground storage tank was primarily intended for non-potable public services and municipal utility tasks, such as street cleaning, community sanitation and maintaining the nearby Plaza para Todos landmark. However, because the city suffers from severe and chronic drinking water shortages, water from large, accessible reservoirs like this one is frequently diverted for other alternative uses. While the local tap water grid is highly unreliable, residents in surrounding neighborhoods collect water from communal sources for washing clothes, cleaning floors and flushing toilets. Homeless people living on the streets regularly bypass safety hatches at these public infrastructure points to bathe or gather water for basic survival needs. Because the victim’s body was submerged in the 45,000-liter system for several days before discovery, municipal emergency crews completely drained the tank to ensure that no contaminated water could leak further into the area's surrounding secondary networks. Guess most buy water in bottles as i would do |

Re: Dead Body Gets Lifted from Underground Water Storage Tank
Didnt something like this happen in the US where a young girl was found in a water tank. She was missing for ages and the residents were complaining that the water had a funny taste. Im sure its been mentioned before. I agree though, stick to bottled water.
