Thank god they put the windshield wipers on after the car went fully under. Quick thinking 10,000 IQ play right there folks. The dude that survived must have turned it on as a distraction, realizing there was only enough time for one of them to escape. He flicked the wipers on at the last minute to confuse his friend. And it worked, his friend stared at those wipers till he was choking on water, wondering to himself…”Why the fuck did he turn the wipers on?”   |

I do a lot of 4wd here in Oz. Cardinal rule on water crossings; determine the depth first; determine current; wind all windows down. Electric windows can fail when wet and doors can lock and also be impossible to open in a current. Wipers often activate when the electrics are immersed.
