Dashcam Records Fishermen Inside Their Toyota Hillux Drowning
Plotnikov River. Kamchatka, Siberia. Three fishermen 55, 59 and 73 years old gathered to fish and at the Plotnikov River, a dispute arose about how to cross it. One of the passengers urged to wade, the driver was afraid and offered to get to the bridge, which was three kilometers away but it was decided to go across the river. When the Toyota-Hilux hit the water, the current pulled it into the depths. Filming all the disputes and, as it turned out, the last minutes of the fishermen's life, the dashcam recorded their words already under the water. "What to do? Get out!" probably, the driver of the Toyota says, when only the river water column is already visible in the windshield and nothing else. "Damn, the door won't open," one of the men says frighteningly calmly. The driver asks again and again gets the same answer: "The door does not open." According to the news, unfortunately, two of those in the car could not get out, but, fortunately, one man escaped - the oldest of the three. The bodies of two of his comrades of him were already being taken out of the vehicle by rescuers. |

Wow, they really turned on their windshield wipers while submerged. That should do it! What on earth were these guys thinking though? It's like they back up, then drive straight into the water. EDIT: now I see the piece of land they were aiming for. So close! |

This is why I carry a knife with a seat belt cutter and windshield breaker. It's a shame they didn't just take the time to go to the darn bridge.

The abject stupidity is a marvel to behold. Then again, to watch and listen to these people dying is terrifying. Dont have to know the language to get the tone and inflection.

It looked like the drowned guy moved his arm toward the end of the video. Do they realize that in cold water immersions people have been revived after 45 minutes underwater? The cold slows down all bodily processes and thus organ death is delayed. I wonder how much time elapsed between the crash and the recovery.
