Dallas - Man Jumps Off Bridge After Hours-Long Police Standoff
Dallas, Texas, USA One person is dead after police say the person jumped following a standoff that lasted for hours and closed all lanes of the Interstate 20 and I-45 interchange, snarling traffic on a key transportation route in southern Dallas County. At least a dozen police and emergency service vehicles could be seen at the location as the incident unfolded. Dallas police said they responded to the scene at 9:40 a.m., and all lanes of the bridge have been closed since 10 a.m., according to Texas Department of Transportation traffic cameras. The interstate running beneath the bridge, I-20 East, is also closed. Traffic is backed up for miles on both I-45 and I-20 near Hutchins. Since arriving onsite, police could be seen on the traffic cameras talking to a man standing near the side of the bridge next to a silver-coloured sedan. Cameras showed police attempting to speak with the individual before they apparently jumped. |
