The full video from Tukhchar '99 is about 48 minutes long.

Ive seen the full video on VHS. It was a copy of a copy our guys from MVD brought back from Grozny in late 2000. There were a bunch of burned CDs, and tapes at the market for sale around that time in Grozny and Gudermes.

The full original tape has a footage of destroyed BMP2 which was knocked out during the brutal fight, inspection of multiple bodies around it, walking the 6 Russian guys to that field. Locals interupting the execution, the execution, and then arrival of the company lead Umar "Karpinsky" who personally finishes Aleksei Polagaev. And then a footage of them moving a few bodies to the side of the road. Tape finishes with them sitting on the grass talking in Chechen about the incident, some guy is checking on another injured Chechen terrorist.

Wow. I've always wondered how the Asiatic-looking guy died- the video seems to cut out for a while then when it comes back it briefly to show his body.

Did he struggle? Hopefully they didn't torment the poor fucker first.

Also, any chance you can put faces to the names? VSK has named two of them, but if I'm going to write an english article on it like I'm hoping, having a name and position [like we now know BMP driver, sniper, lieutenant] for each man.

Alright, so this is what I have so far.

It happened in Dagestan 1999 08 05.

There were 13 soldiers, a lieutenant and policemen who were guarding that checkpoint. They had only been issued four full magazines per person, meant for a fifteen minute fight. They had a BMP-2, which they used to kill a few attackers, but then the Chechens destroyed the BMP with an RPG. One crewman died in the explosion, but the driver was only injured. He is the last person in the video to be executed. Locals tried to help them to escape and hid them in their houses.

Four Soldiers, two policemen and the lieutenant took cover in an empty building. The Chechens demolished the building with an RPG round. The explosion and falling debris killed the two policemen. They Chechens surrounded the trapped soldiers and brought canisters of gasoline, saying that if the soldiers did not surrender they would burn them alive. They claimed that they would take the soldiers prisoner for later exchange. The soldiers, out of ammo and desperate, believed them and surrendered. The Chechens beat them and brought them back to the checkpoint. The sixth soldier, the injured driver of the BMP, went to a house. One woman called the local doctor to clean his wounds. He fell asleep, but someone told the Chechens that he was there. The Chechens had planned ahead, and each house belonging to a policeman or soldier was marked with an 'M' by some traitor in the village. The Chechens found the BMP driver, and brought him along with the other five to the place of execution.

When the video we have starts, two men already have their throats at least partly cut. The shirtless man at the end of the line was a sniper, and the one laying face-up at the back of the line was the lieutenant. The lieutenant had been shot twice before his throat was cut because he had been resisting fiercely. The boy who manages to run, Aleksey Lipatov, was unfortunately shot and killed after managing to run 200 meters. The man in the blue shirt who was interrogated was Vladimir Kaufman. The BMP driver, Aleksey Polagajev, is killed last by Umar himself.

Some soldiers managed to hide in the village.

The bodies were recovered a day later and brought by school truck to another checkpoint. The people from that village had asked the chechens to release the bodies. At first they refused, but then the villagers came and asked again, and people told them that a memorial plaque may be built if the bodies were not returned. And so the bodies were recovered the next day.

In the hoto which you have uploaded is Konstantin Anisimov, (some say it is Aleksey Panarin) but on the cross which is now in the same place there is name Konstantin Anisimov, so that means it is photo of Konstantin, he was shooter, not sniper, sniper was the guy Boris Erdneev who was executed before Aleksey Polagajev.
