A fatal piece of news in which the death of two workers at a mechanical workshop in the municipality of Caldas, in the south of the Aburrá Valley, was reported, is being investigated by the authorities.

From the fact it is said that it was the explosion of an acetylene cylinder which was manipulated by the deceased. In addition, four other people were transferred to care centers.

So far few details are known, but the Caldas Fire Department continues to investigate what were the real causes or conditions in which the explosion occurred.

According to Gladys González, Caldas fire commander, two more people also had to be treated, one for psychological damage and the other for hearing problems.

“We don't really know what it is. We are in the investigation. Two people were killed from that explosion, the one who was manipulating the machinery and the comrade who was next to it,” said the commander.

“Apparently they were making an arrangement and it turns out that there was an explosion. We are investigating what could have happened when they were doing the cutting, how they use nitrogen and something to cut,” he added.

The CTI of the Prosecutor's Office arrived at the place to inspect the two corpses, which it was learned under the names of JCR, 31, and WZ, 44.
