Cyclist Overtaking Parked Car, Hits a Guy Before Falling Under Truck Wheels
Mexico, According to witnesses, the deceased tried to overtake a parked car when he slightly hit a man standing next to it, making him fall. However, the tractor trailer could not stop in time and ran him over. The victim, J.G.L, an engineering student, on his way to work, died almost instantly, after the heavy unit ran over him and his body was left lying in the center lane. Workers who are in the sector used some plastic crates to flag the accident, while the Road Safety agents arrived and preventing other cars from passing over it. Witnesses told that the truck driver was unable to stop due to the weight and speed. He was arrested later on but released after some time. The victim wears blue jeans, white tennis shoes and a cherry-colored sweatshirt, he also wore a black cap and a lunch box. The remains will be sent to the Forensic Medical Service pending a claim and identification by his family. |

Re: Cyclist Overtaking Parked Car, Hits a Guy Before Falling Under Truck Wheels
Haven't you guys see the youtube videos where the pissed off trucker tries to rear end the asshole driver that cuts him off? This trucker did not swerve a microinch from center when that guy fell in front of him. Not saying he could have missed him, but he could have missed him if he was in fact paying attention.

~ Looks like the guy getting into his car was carrying a wide object, & the bike rider tried going around the guy or may have gotten hit by the wide object, causing him lose control & fall. ~ The truck driver was not at fault because the biker fell too close to the truck for it to stop. |

Ooh, a "Fixie"! No extra gears, no brakes, no chance to do anything with regard to slowing down. Dead guy could have done some Fred Flintstone-style deceleration and avoided the whole killed by a semi thing, but nooooooooooo, he was committed.

So, one less congestion causing cyclist? SPILLED MILK! OH WELL. ![]() EDIT/Disclaimer: I'm not against cyclists per sé; just the ones who hold up traffic causing people to be late to work and thus losing their jobs. All for cyclists getting to work on a bike, in any country, but when they hold up traffic and cause a traffic jam, well that *causes more* pollution. |
