Re: ~Cyclist Gets His Head Popped~
That's how I learnt as well up in NH. ~However~ When I moved down to Florida I discovered this lovely law for bikes having to ride on the road and not on sidewalks. I believe in some places you can get a ticket for riding a bike on a sidewalk. It's absolutely ridiculous, and I do NOT abide by that at all when I ride a bike. On top of that, I think that whole rule of ride a bike with traffic, and walk against traffic is total bullshit too. Either way, I'd rather see the cars coming towards me to know how to react than just be riding along and suddenly flying and flipping through the air thinking to myself, "Wtf?? I didn't join the Olympics. Why am I suddenly....splat" Sorry for the rant. lol weed does that to me. |

Re: ~Cyclist Gets His Head Popped~
Exactly. I knew a little boy who broke his leg because of a cyclist on the pavement. It took him years to heal it. There’s no way pedestrians and cyclist can share a sidewalk. So it’s understandable for them to use the road. Drivers just have to be patient. Definitely not ride up so close to them. In my opinion, the cyclist wasn’t at fault here. |
