Same thing happened here in San Francisco a couple years ago. Some man never came home and the video at the building on Montgomery St., in the Financial Dist, showed him coming to work but never leaving. A week later, he was found in one of the elevator shafts. It's thought that the elevator door opened but the elevator was not there and he just walked right in, then fell down the shaft. Up and down, all week long until someone took notice of the smell.
