Criminals entered a cemetery in the Casqueira community, in Areia Branca, in the early hours of Tuesday (10), vandalized a grave, and burned a body buried there the day before. According to reports, the body is that of José Maciel da Silva Dantas, who died on Sunday (8) after a confrontation with Military Police in Mossoró. The body was removed after an examination at the Technical-Scientific Expertise Institute and buried on Monday (9). Maciel was killed in a shootout with police in the Mossoró III residential area. In the same incident, another suspect was also shot and died after being taken to the Tarcísio Maia Regional Hospital. According to police, he was identified as the leader of a criminal faction operating in the area. The destruction of the grave was only discovered by residents in the early hours of the morning. The Civil Police will investigate the case to identify the perpetrators and clarify the motives for the crime.
