Re: Cremation of a Human Body

I can see now that it would be EASY to get ashes mixed up here... a row of undocumented ashes on the floor and just his memory to tell who is who.

Unless your loved one had certain kind of metal inside him or her. Saw that on a, "Columbo!"

But, seriously, that is a way to narrow down the possibilities.

Re: Cremation of a Human Body

Did you all check out the full documentary, "A Certain Kind of Death"?

It is here and in a separate thread.

Very interesting, sad and informative
good movie, thanks.

I feel sorry for the indigent at the end. being buried with 1600 of your closest friends you never knew.

Re: Cremation of a Human Body

So when you get the remains, you get a little of everyone else who has ever been in there and who knows, they may mix up the remains so you get someone completely different!

Re: Cremation of a Human Body

I wonder how often the boxes of ash have been spilt & swept up or gotten mixed up altogether.

Plenty me thinks...

This is a giant burning for unclaimed bodies after a certain amount of time.

I'd be pretty sure if you paid the crematory and could witness it, as two of my brothers did with my father's body, your odds of getting the right ashes are pretty good.

You might be sharing your space with someone else's residue though.

I do not know how well the ovens are cleaned or how often.

I do know a few of our members have done this, and may still do it, and perhaps they will enlighten us
