What a BS, thank god the Netherlands doesn't have a claim culture like the US has. Just like any other Western country, it's allowed to act with equal force against an attacker that started a fight, so it would have been impossible for the guy stabbing his girlfriend to file a lawsuit against anyone that would have stopped him by kicking the shit out of him or even stabbing him. And being able to carry guns with you has fuck all to do with this since the attacker didn't carry a gun either. If gun laws where as stupidly lax in the Netherlands as they are in the us, this girl who was attacked by her ex would have been shot instead of stabbed, and I doubt that she would have been alive after being shot 70 times instead of being stabbed, even if it were with a 22 cal handgun. And at least murders are extremely rare here in the Netherlands, especially if you compare it like some disturbing country like the us, where more than 11.000 people a year are killed, even if you compare it to a percentage that's still a hell of a lot more in the us compared to the Netherlands, and along with the healthcare system, education system and living systems you are much better off in the Netherlands, which has been the country with one of the best living standards in the world, ranking a lot higher than the us, that's why it's the best country in the world, along with Sweden and Switzerland. Cause as wrong as this video might have seen, it's a daily basis in most cities in the us, and I doubt they always come and help the victim over there as well. You should look into the truth a bit more before you make any claims about facts next time and quit listening to what the gunnuts tell you.

A couple of people can't be held representative of a whole country. In case you didn't know, there have been plenty of cases of pointless violence in the Netherlands in the recent decade or so where people who tried to help out someone else who was being attacked was seriously injured or even killed by the attacker. After several of such events, people tend to be more careful with what they do in cases like this, as horrible as it may seem. It's very easy to say from behind a keyboard and computerscreen; "If I saw something like this happening, I'd be kicking that violent perp to the ground and kicking him untill the cops arrived". But untill you proved yourself in real life, it's nothing but an empty statement, quite easy to make in the virtual world, a lot harder to do in the real one.
