Couple Committed Suicide by Laying Themselves on the Train Track
India, An unmarried couple committed suicide by lying on the railway track in the early hours of Sunday. The deceased were identified as S. and M. The boy was studying degree and the girl was studying Intermediate. Both the boy and the girl were in a love relationship and lived together. They also wanted to get married soon. When the parents of both the girl and the boy disagreed with their proposals, the living in partners were heartbroken and decided to end their lives and lied down on the railway track and got run over by a train. |

If I was an Indian youth, and my parents had problems with my romantic decisions, I'd put THEM on the railroad track. Or when they got old, I'd put them in the worst care home I could find, as payback.

Easier said than done. If you live in rural India you are captive to their culture, and the caste system still reigns. You have no support if you rebel against the wishes of your elders. This is why so many young people in the situation described here end of suicides.
