Councillor, and Civil Guard Commander, Shot Dead by Commander's Ex-Husband
Teresina, Piauí, Brazil A city councillor, Thiciano Ribeiro; and Penélope Brito, the commander of the Civil Guard of Parnaíba, were shot dead in the city centre of Teresina by Penélope's ex-husband. A taxi driver who was at the scene was injured by shrapnel but is out of danger. The video shows the couple walking near a hospital when the suspect, in a white shirt, runs up from behind and begins shooting at them with his gun pointed at his head. The Teresina Municipal Civil Guard, which arrived first on the scene, reported that Thiciano was shot in the chest and Penélope in the head. Approximately five rounds of ammunition were found, but the exact number of shots fired will still be confirmed by forensic experts. |
