Cops Shoot Guy when Breaking Up a Soccer Match Due to Covid Restrictions
This past Sunday, a police operation broke up a soccer match that was played in the a park in Peru with the participation of about 20 people. The police operation that sought to respect social distancing ended with a citizen killed by a gunshot in the neck fired by a member of the National Police of Peru (PNP) and two soldiers receiving serious injuries. The police officers used their weapons to search and arrest the people who participated in the match. Faced with the resistance of the citizens, there were struggles and, in the middle of these, a policeman shot a 52-year-old man, who did not participate in the soccer game, but was only in the middle of the scene. The two wounded police officers received facial trauma and the other officer moderate brain injury. The widow of the deceased, also denounced having been mistreated by a police officer asked the president of the nation for justice to be done. She declares that she approached to help her husband, while the policemen not only ignored her, but also asked her to leave the place with insults. Incidents of this type are not the first time that they have occurred (remember that last August, 13 citizens died in a police operation at the "Thomas Restobar" nightclub in Lima), but when the apparent lack of Police for these events, Jorge Lam, deputy general commander of the PNP , responded that "this would not happen if the citizens complied with the health regulations dictated by the Government." |

The only reason the cops didn’t shoot everyone that wasn’t wearing a face mask, was because they only had 28 rounds of ammo.  |
