Your objective in shooting is to STOP THE THREAT, not to kill. Of course you may end up killing the person, and if the shoot was a "good" one that' unfortunate, just justified.



Non-lethal doesn't always work. If you're the cop and you have one option and you choose non-lethal, you can end up stabbed.

With two cops there should be one on non-lethal and one on lethal. Time permitting (which it did in this case) the non-lethal fires first and if that stops the threat then that's a good outcome. If non-lethal doesn't stop the threat then you have no option but to use lethal.

What I meant was that if you choose to use the gun, as the name ‘lethal’ implies, you are likely to kill the target. You wouldn’t ever shoot a gun at a person unless you’re intending on a lethal result.

There was nothing at all wrong with the male cop's actions. The female cop missed an opportunity to (possibly) resolve the situation with non-lethal, and she needs "retraining".

I am thinking she was in training. Basically a ride along. The situation escalated very quickly, but you can tell she obviously didn’t know what to do just by the way she ran almost right up to the victim.

Clearly a suicide, a cowardly, selfish suicide. The woman knew the cops would be mobilized if she called a counselor and threatened suicide. Then the woman heightened the drama by carrying her helpless counselor along on her cell phone to share the grisly scene. Now two cops have to deal with the guilt and anguish of being participants. That suicide's body should be landfilled. She does not deserve the dignity of a human burial.

Anyone who has been around here a bit knows what a pig sticker like that woman had can do. You catch that in the throat and it's lights out in twenty seconds. Guy had to shoot her and you could tell he wasn't at all happy about it.

As far as that worthless bitch cop, I agree with prior posts noting it was HER fault the woman is dead.
