Re: Cop Fatally Shoots Mentally Ill Man
Let's see what we have here; blaring music, check, caterwauling woman at 112db, check, door swinging back and forth into line of sight, check, 300 mental patient wielding a butcher knife, check. Had all the merits of a standard Cat 5 Chimpout. It was half-empty the magazine or potentially bleed out in that dirty hallway with his throat cut. He chose the latter. I'd have chosen it as well.

Re: Cop Fatally Shoots Mentally Ill Man
I’m not gonna lie, I feel for both sides. The family is way out if their league when it comes to both police protocols but more importantly about mental health. Their son made a decision that night that they don’t want to confront or accept, so they are placing the blame on the cops, because that’s easier. That cop clearly tried. And looked visibly upset after, because let’s be real, no one likes having to shoot someone. Especially after you’ve put in so much effort trying to get him to calm down, put the knife down, even going in and trying to speak to him in a calm way. He did everything he could. Then he unfortunately did what he had to. That was a textbook Suicide By Cop incident. That guy was already planning on hurting himself, regardless of whether cops came or not. When he realized that they weren’t backing down, he knew damn well what he was doing when he got out of the tub and started coming at him. It’s a horrible place to be for the officers who have no choice, and soooo easy for anyone else that doesn’t have a clue about mental illness to turn around and point fingers at cops for doing what they have to. SBC subjects know what they’re doing and how to provoke cops into shooting them. They advance that same way, make a point of either showing their weapons, or go out if their way to act/make someone BELIEVE they have one. Like the idiots that robs people by pressing something against your back - you have no reason to think it’s NOT a gun, when it may actually be a fucking candy bar. The only thing that’s worse is that the family is clearly holding onto their hate. They failed to get their son the help he needed, and that’s on them. The comment that mother made pissed me off, though. I see why he was suicidal with such spiteful people in his life. That camera they set up is curious, too... |
