Mexico, In a video broadcasted through social networks shows 2 subjects riding a motorcycle approaching next to a red car that was stopped in line in front of the red light.

The motorist shoots at them after one of the two, dressed in black, goes down and stops at his left side, with the intention of assaulting him.

Upon getting shot at, this subject runs towards the rear of the vehicle and tries to escape.

Nevertheless, police reports indicate that the delinquent could not advance too much, since it received shots in the ribs and back; paramedics transferred him to the Hospital, where he is being held.

The driver also shot the thief who was driving the motorcycle when he tried to escape, but he died in a few seconds. Although he tried to get away he only managed to get a few meters far before he collapsed against to a pickup truck.

The motorist did not escape immediately. He reversed, passed the cars and crossed the traffic light. However, the car was found abandoned few streets away and so far the driver has not been located.

Reports indicate that the dead offender was nicknamed Cancer or Cancerous. The Attorney General's Office opened an ivestigation and looked for the driver.

If it was shown that he acted in self-defense, he could be free. There was no weapon found at the dead biker.

The City Attorney said that so far it has not been possible to confirm that the victim was going to assault the driver.

seems like maybe the bike had motor trouble, the passenger was clumsy(maybe drunk) when he disembarked, which triggered the hypervigilant/paranoid cop to open up.
can't really blame the cop, seeing as the setting is Brasil Mexico, but it looks like he fucked up, realized it, and took off in hopes he would never be "fingered", as the brits say
