Community Leader Shot and Killed at Gas Pump by Guy on a Bike
Colombia. Community and political leader Andrés G. R. B. was killed in the north of the Cauca department, when he was sweeping the floor next to a gas pump at a service station in the municipality of Alexandria. A man who was riding a motorcycle arrived at the scene and shot him, causing him to collapse and die. He was recognized in his community for his social work and his participation in local political life. He belonged to the Radical Change party and was a candidate for the Council of Miranda in the territorial elections of 2023 by the Democratic Alliance movement, with him a strategic agreement was established to reach that institutional space. This is the 27th political/community leader that was killed in 2026 so far. |
