After fleeing the shooting scene on the 1900 block of Durfor Street, the two suspects walked several blocks northwest toward 22nd and Porter Streets. The suspects took off and dumped their hooded sweatshirts and face masks in that immediate area. Police successfully recovered one of the suspect's distinct pieces of clothing captured on surveillance video—a light gray, custom-designed KONFUSED sweatshirt featuring three skulls and crossbones with a bejeweled halo above each Security cameras caught both suspects continuing on foot away from 22nd and Porter Streets wearing only plain white T-shirts, leaving the custom sweatshirt behind to be collected as critical evidence. A 14-year-old suspect is in police custody and being questioned by homicide detectives. Investigators secured this lead while investigating a separate armed robbery near Broad Street and Snyder Avenue. The juvenile is currently being scrutinized for a string of robberies in that area. Both locations are less than a five-minute drive apart. |
