As per usual with China, the information available exists only as Internet rumours. Apparently, the man, 26, had a relationship with a woman, who worked in a mahjong parlour. The woman also played mahjong, but fell into debt, and consequently resorted to sleeping with her creditor. She also had two children, which the 26-year-old man was unaware of.

Feeling deceived, the man stabbed the woman to death. He then slit his wrists, but was unable to cut deep enough.

Afterwards, he climbed to the top of the mahjong building, taking photos of his injuries and waiting to hear if his partner had died. When he confirmed the outcome, he jumped to his death.
