Regardless of what sort of prick he was or wasn't, why would you intervene? Seriously, what business is it of a third party? Please don't give out some crap about "humanity,", "empathy" etc. What possible concrete reason could there be for interfering? If the victim was someone of value to you, that would be a reason. But if not, I can't honestly find one. I can understand where the religious folks could have one, but for the rest of the world (and the vast majority in DR) what possible reason could there be, in the abstract? |

Agreed. Heroes often get killed. We’ve seen it when people attempt to break a fight up, save someone that’s drowning, in a fire, etc. If it’s someone dear to me, no doubt I’d jump in without a second thought. But unless there is a clear and low risk way of assisting a stranger, or my own survival/the survival of a loved one is at stake - is it really worth risking your life ? Nah. Sad reality, but not unreasonable. Call 911. |
