That's what happens when you wear synthetics, especially untreated synthetics, to work on high voltage lines. Common natural fibers tend not to melt or ignite in a flash.  Someone already said it, it was pieces of his insta-fried clothes that were the flying debris

Whats so strange is we dont or cant see if his pole was making contact with a powerline. I think he had Made the Mistake of casting over a power line and he and the rod acted as a super conductor drawing the juice right to him. KAHBLAM
