Couldn't agree more. Remember that the two doomed men may have been beaten below the neck (bruises won't show) or even, dumb as it seems, have been given a shot of H or morphine, although this is improbable.
The POINT of the video was to have the victims DOCILE. This can be acheived in many ways.

If I remember right, they were been captured for 2 months or so before this execution. But yes, H could be very well reason for their numbness. They were accepted their fate long ago. Dead men walking.
