I THINK there's a special 'vertical wall' armature called a Headache Bar, mounted just behind the cab, to prevent just this sort of thing. You see them on US roads, at least. Guess this truck didn't have one, and of course their effectiveness can depend on the type of load and just how fast you're having to stop....
