Car Hits Couple on Bike and Fatally Runs Over Homeless Man in Wheelchair
Brazil, A 48-year-old homeless man in a wheelchair, in a crosswalk, died after being hit and run over by a car near one of the busiest shopping centers in the area. The victim was identified as J.M.D.B. The Samu came to the rescue and referred him to the Hospital, where he died, with "very bad vital signs", shortly after the accident. Video shows that the victim crosses the crosswalk and a motorcyclist, with a female passenger, stops and waits for the croswalk. Then, a red vehicle did not stop and runs over the couple on the motorcycle and the wheelchair user. The motorcyclist falls to the asphalt and the female passenger is taken on the hood of the vehicle. The car passes over the wheelchair user, already lying on the asphalt. After the accident, some people run to help the victims and the driver of the vehicle remains at the scene. According to the Military Police, the motorcyclist and the passenger suffered minor injuries. |

~That crosswalk sign is useless, since it is just a foot away from the crosswalk itself. Not enough warning. ~ The crosswalk should also be colored yellow, like they are where I live, & the crosswalk sign should be placed with enough distance so that drivers can be warned to slow down, &/or the road lines should be painted yellow from some reasonable distance, if not as well. |

Where'd the guy in the wheelchair go? He can hide but he can't run.

Let’s look at the positives. One less homeless person in the shelter, two more non-Covid beds filled in the hospital, and the biggest positive of all - the driver in the red car positively sucks at driving. |
