Re: Canadian Man That Joined ISIS
First, I'm old (especially if you ask my niece) Second, I think anyone fighting for their religion is an idiot Third, any non-military person who needs to run over to Syria to play real-time Call of Duty (either for ISIS or Coalition) should be assessed first for mental instability. You want to fight, join the army. Otherwise, put your headphones on, grab a Red Bull and Doritos, take your controller and play your stupid game. Yes I dislike COD. Actually I like the game, I dislike the hardcore players who get so involved that they can't function. I worked with one who would be gone from work early to rush home and play. And when the last one came out, he called in sick for the week. And I know he's not the only one that does this. |

I STILL don't get the appeal. I don't think I'll ever understand what will make someone want to go over there and subject themselves to such .... Evil (for lack of a better word)

Re: Canadian Man That Joined ISIS
Lots of people say they cannot grasp an understanding of what would make a person want to commit their life to such an extreme cause. Just goes to show what "faith" can do to people. I don't think there is much doubt the vast majority of IS' citizens/"army" (as crazy as it may sound) literally believe in God, aswell as an afterlife. If killed by "unbelievers" fighting apparently for "Islam" they're martyrs and are assured a spot in heaven.
