You read my mind man. That was the whole point of coming up with the hangman's noose. Position it just behind the left ear, and snug it up just a little so it does not slide away. When they drop, it snaps the neck, and death is pretty much instantanious. To just strangle to death ? That would suck. Give me a firing squad. |

When done this way there is a great deal of discomfort and actual strangling going on. Mercifully the strangling ends when the blood flow is stopped and the person passes out after about 20 seconds or so. With a proper gallows as was done with Saddam the body drops and the neck is broken. There is no strangling going on and death is instant. The shock of the vertebrae being ripped from the base of the skull and the spinal cord being ripped out of the base of the brain is enough to cause instant death. There is just no way Iranians are going to go to the extra effort to build something so merciful. |

Guess they can't get it all right. Finally they've got a proper camera, but to compensate for the progress they stand miles further back. And ofcourse they dont want to give us the pleasure of the zoom-button. That cam+doing it at night instead+some LED lights would've been awesome. *sigh*
