A friend of mine said that rodeoing is the way out for kids in South America. He compared it to the NFL, and the top cowboys to the football stars. They have NO other opportunities to make it big, and the rewards are huge. With no education, and not much in job skills, if you can make it big in Rodeo, your life is set. He said most of the big South American rodeo stars wind up buying ranches in the U.S. So I guess that is why we see this scenario so often. Just kids taking a grab at the gold ring. I never knew anything about that before. You learn something every day. |
