A 31-year-old mechanic, Adriano J.S.C., also known as Juninho, was shot dead in the early hours of this Sunday. He was sitting on a pavement with another man when two hooded men approached them. One of the men then pulled out a firearm and fired several shots at Juninho. After finishing him off, the men then tried to shoot the man sitting next to Juninho, but he managed to escape unharmed.

According to preliminary information, the victim was "known in the region and had been involved in other incidents". His son had been murdered in the family's workshop in the same neighbourhood about eight years ago.
