A 26-year-old man, Gustavo Z.F., was killed after being deliberately run over twice in Campinas, São Paulo state.

CCTV footage showed Gustavo being run over by a Fiat Uno, driven by a shirtless man wearing red shorts. A friend ran over to help Gustavo, only for himself to be run over - a motorcyclist was nearly run over himself.

Gustavo managed to stumble onto the pavement, only for the Fiat driver to run him over again, at high speed. The video ends with the driver chasing after Gustavo's friend.

The driver, 28-year-old Cristian L.d.S., was arrested, and has been indicted for homicide. He claimed that one of either Gustavo or his friend had fired a gun into the air, which is why he ran over Gustavo.

However, the CCTV footage does not show anyone with a firearm, no firearm was found at the scene or in the possession of Gustavo or his friend, and as the police report noted, "even if there was a firearm, it is clear from the [CCTV footage] that the driver was not facing a current or imminent threat and that he could have driven away in his vehicle."
