actually this happened so many times at the range down the street they stopped renting guns unless you met certain criteria such as being a known customer, licensed to carry concealed, come with family etc. In theory almost everyone choosing a range for suicide comes along and has no other access to firearms hence their reason for using a rental they can get their hands on for $30-40 and no waiting period.
