He's exercising his right to live. He initially does try to reach out for help but suddenly realizes he doesn't have the strength or physique to counter him, as simple as that.

they allow someone to walk into the mall with that kind of weapon? I know people may assume he bought it fresh inside one of the mall stores. It's concerning either ways
