West Malaysia, A man suffered 96% burns on his body after setting himself on fire in a car Wednesday morning.

Police received a call at 8.49 pm from a 38-year-old board factory worker who informed that there was a burning car and a man in the vehicle.

At the same time, the Fire and Rescue Department was informed of this incident and a team of 10 members and emergency medical services immediately went over to the scene.

When the fire and rescue team arrived at the scene, they found a vehicle completely engulfed in flames.

The victim can be seen walking out of the flames with his entire body on fire. A civilian who stopped his car behind the burning car then got out of the car and calmed the man, as well as extinguished the fire on the victim’s body before contacting the authorities for help.

The victim was taken to the Emergency and Trauma Hospital for treatment.

He said that the investigations found that the 28-year-old man is a psychiatric patient receiving outpatient treatment.

The father of the victim revealed that the victim had tried to commit suicide in January and last Tuesday, before being saved by the family both times.

The cause of the victim’s suicide attempts is believed to be disappointed with his ex-girlfriend who has found a new lover.

The father had suspected that his son was going to make another attempt last night and rushed to the police station for help after seeing him consuming a bottle of petrol and leaving the house.

Unfortunately, the victim did not survive the incident while receiving treatment.
