On 4Nov24, a thief in Recife Brazil experienced a comedy of errors, eventually proving fatal. He stole a cell phone then jumped into the river to elude capture, thereby ruining the phone. He soon found himself being swept through the city in a strong river current. When he could not extract himself at a bridge pier, helpful citizens dropped a cable intending to use their superpowers to lift him 30 feet up to the bridge deck. The rescue cable then touched an electric line and shocked the immersed thief. The thief then, finally out of his misery, floated away and submerged. His body was never recovered, leading to speculation that he fed the aquatic wildlife of Brazil, perhaps even piranha.
