A group took nine people hostage during a robbery at an oriental restaurant, located on Prates Street, in Bom Retiro, downtown São Paulo, on Monday night (18). One suspect was arrested, one fled and two were shot. Of these, he could not resist the injuries and died.

According to Rota (Rondas Ostensivas Tobias de Aguiar), four men approached a family during the robbery of the establishment when a sports shooter witnessed the action. He, who has the CAC (Hunter, Shooter and Collector) registration and is a neighbor of the restaurant, had the gun at the time he saw the robbery and decided to intervene.

A third criminal, aged 51, remained in the restaurant, taking seven people hostage, including customers and employees.

According to witnesses, the same neighbor who clashed with the robbers would have called the police, who spent about an hour and a half negotiating the release of the victims with the robber. In dialogue with agents of the Special Tactics Action Group (Gate), he stated that he had been arrested before.

At the end of the negotiations, the man surrendered and the victims were released, including a child.
